Barrio Logan has 7% tree canopy compared to 13% citywide, and 23% in the affluent community of La Jolla. Barrio Logan is also at risk for urban heat island. Through funding from the CA Strategic Growth Council, Department of Conservancy via Transformative Climate Communities, EHC is launching a campaign to plant 200 trees in Logan by 2024.
