As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to spread and stay-at-home orders continue, the future has never felt so unpredictable. These are challenging times for us all, and we hope you are staying healthy, staying home, and in good spirits! At EHC, we are doing everything possible to sustain daily operations and connect our communities to the resources they need. Now more than ever, our community needs us. And they need you. People from all walks of life, people we know and love, are out-of-work and struggling to make ends meet. Without paid leave or health care, countless low-income, immigrant, and working families are grappling with impossible questions about how to pay rent or put food on the table. These are the same communities whose health is most impacted by pollution – making them extremely vulnerable to this virus. As an environmental justice organization, EHC is stepping up to ensure that they have the basic resources they need to survive this pandemic. Today, food and shelter are at risk so we’re asking you to help. As tax refunds and COVID-19 stimulus checks arrive, please consider donating to one of the following assistance funds supporting those most affected by the pandemic in our communities. San Diego Foundation - A coalition of philanthropy, government, and business partners have joined together to create the San Diego COVID-19 Community Response Fund to rapidly deploy flexible resources to the frontlines of the coronavirus outbreak in San Diego County. San Diego Immigrant Rights Consortium - SDIRC provides grants of up to $500 to immigrants in San Diego County who have lost all or part of their income due to the coronavirus pandemic, along with other emergencies that may arise in the future. International Community Foundation - ICF is making weekly rapid response grants from the Border Fund to address urgent and long-term health, food, and education efforts led by courageous partners on the ground in the Baja California peninsula. In uncertain times like this, we are acutely reminded of how interconnected we actually are. Thank you for being part of our community and supporting those most in need. Stay safe and well,
