Activists Outraged as Rep. Davis Helps Pass Fast Track Bill -12/07/2001(San Diego)--Environmental Health Coalition (EHC) today expressed outrage at the U.S. House passage of H.R. 3005, the Fast Track Trade Authority Bill, and the affirmative vote of Rep. Susan Davis (49-D). The bill passed by a one-vote margin, 215 to 214.
"We are appalled that Congresswoman Davis contributed the deciding vote for the passage of this anti-justice bill in the House." said Diane Takvorian, Executive Director of EHC.

(Tijuana) - Rallying in solidarity with their representatives in Dallas, TX, residents of Colonia Chilpancingo met on the doorstep of SEMARNAP’s Tijuana office and demanded the clean up the 6,000 tons of hazardous waste.

Community Demands Cleanup of Abandoned Lead Smelter at Tri-National Environmental Meeting in Dallas, Texas - 06/12/2000 (Dallas, TX) - Representatives of Colonia Chilpancingo and EHC formally presented over 500 letters from residents to the Mexican Minister of the Environment, Ms. Julia Carabias, at the 7th Regular Session of the Commission for Environmental Cooperation in Dallas, Texas.

NAFTA COMMISSION VALIDATES EHC’S CLAIMS: Investigation Warranted on Toxic Waste Site - 05/17/2000
(San Diego) – In a surprise early decision, the Commission for Environmental Cooperation (CEC) voted unanimously to act on the petition submitted by Environmental Health Coalition and the Comité Ciudadano Pro Restauración del Cañón del Padre regarding an abandoned lead smelter, Metales y Derivados, in Tijuana, Mexico.
