RALLY
for FAIR TRADE Thank
you to the over 100 supporters who turned out for EHC’s Fair
Trade Rally on October 18th! EHC released our new report, Globalization
at the Crossroads: Ten Years of NAFTA in the San Diego/Tijuana Border
Region at the rally, which featured speakers Congressman Bob
Filner, Carmen Valadez from the Colectivo Feminista Binacional, as
well as Diane Takvorian, Amelia Simpson and Lourdes Luján from
EHC and EHC’s affiliate the Colectivo Chilpancingo Pro Justicia Ambiental.
Phone calls flooded into Congresswoman Susan Davis’ office from the
rally, urging her to vote NO on DR-CAFTA (Dominican Republic-Central
American Free Trade Agreement) if it is presented to the U.S. Congress
in a lame duck post-election session this fall.
As
this message is going out, 197,556 people in San Diego and Tijuana have
signed on to our Fair Trade Campaign!
