WHAT:
San Diego Regional Water Quality Control Board (Regional Board) Meeting and workshop.
Attend the meeting and
- Demand that the Board set a date for public hearing as soon as possible on the order to clean up toxic sediments from San Diego Bay!
- Protect people who fish from the bay and fish and wildlife who live there.
- Support a stringent and protective background cleanup of sediments at NASSCO and Southwest Marine Shipyard.
- Oppose any proposal that leaves dangerous chemicals in the bay.

WHY:
- The polluters have been ordered to clean up their mess. We need a hearing to implement it!
- Toxic sediments threaten the health of the Bay. Contaminated sediments need to be permanently removed not “capped” over or left in the Bay to threaten future generations.
- A stringent sediment clean up to background levels is needed to protect human health, fish, wildlife, and all of the beneficial uses of the Bay.
- Cleanup of the Bay is a matter of environmental justice. Toxic pollution disproportionately impacts low-income and people of color. These families deserve an extra measure of protection.

Ven a la reunion y
- Exige que la Junta Regional ponga una fecha lo mas pronto posible para la audiencia pública sobre la orden de limpieza de sedimentos tóxicos en la bahía.
- Protege a los pescadores de la bahía, los peces y la vida silvestre que viven ahí.
- Apoya un saneamiento riguroso para los sedimentos en los astilleros de NASSCO y Southwest Marine.
- Oponte cualquier propuesta que deje químicos peligrosos en la bahía.
